So near and yet so far at Warwick 2011…

Gwynfa finished joint first in the plate final of the National DPI Championships at Warwick but failed to collect the trophy after a nail biting tie break. Cotwswold Monochrome Gold Medal for Dave Lingham

Congratulations to Dave Lingham FRPS of Gwynfa Camera Club who had great success at the 2011 Cotswold Monochome salon. His print entitled ‘Porthgain Harbour’ was highly commended and his print ‘Surf Line’ was awarded a Gold Medal. Well done indeed.

FIAP Gold Medal for Alan Shepherd

Hearty congratulations to Alan Shepherd AWPF ARPS AFIAP of Gwynfa Camera Club who had a FIAP Gold Medal for his photo “Empty Table” in the 2011 Ecological Truth International Salon in Serbia.

The 2011 Barrian Cup Result

The 2011 Barrian Cup took place on Saturday 4th June at Barry’s usual venue of the St Francis Millenium Hall, Barry. Opened by councillor John Clifford, Mayor of the Vale of Glamorgan, the event was judged with effortless expertise by the popular Leo Rich ARPS DPAGB APAGB EFIAP. Congratulations (again) to Jenny Hibbert

Very well done to Jenny Hibbert AWPF MPAGB who had a print accepted in the RPS Print Exhibition. There were 2500 prints entered & they chose 123 so to have a print accepted is marvellous. The print accepted was Hard Times for Polar Bears.

Colin Kelly gets his CPAGB

Many congratulations to Colin Kelly, of Neath Photographic Society on his CPAGB accreditation success. This was Colin,s second attempt at a CPAGB distinction and his panel of prints scored consistently well under the careful scrutiny of six critical judges.Well done Colin!

Inn Focus Win 2011 Premier League

Inn Focus have won the South Wales Premier League for Photography by defeating Bargoed by 265 points to 259. It was a close contest excellently judged by Les Loosemoore with superb images on show throughout the evening. It ended Bargoed’s run of winning the title for the past three seasons. Tom Dee of Inn Focus said ‘following on from our Salon results this puts the icing on the cake for us’.

Congratulation to Ian Ledgard

Ian Ledgard has gained a Galaxy 1 Award in the PSA Colour Projected Image Division. The qualifying requirements being at least 363 acceptances with 121 different images. Ian is the first person from Wales to gain a Galaxy in any PSA Division. Well done!
