The Great British Cup was judged last weekend with varying degrees of success for WPF clubs in the three competitions.
In the open competition for large clubs the highest placed Welsh club was Tenby (165 points) in joint 15th place, a very creditable performance. Next up was Gwynfa (160 points), Port Talbot (156), the Vale both (156), Swansea (153) and Neath (150). A total of 106 clubs took part.
In the nature competition Gwynfa turned the tables on Tenby by finishing as top WPF club with 109 points (and joint 28th place). The other Welsh clubs were Tenby (108), Neath (106), Swansea (105) and Bridgend (98). A total of 98 clubs took part.
In the open competition for ‘small’ clubs Bridgend & District finished 7th on 115 points with our other two entrants, Carmarthen and Towy Valley finishing on 105 and 101 respectively. A total of 58 clubs took part.
