Stanley Chell 2017 – Results

Firstly on behalf of Aberdare Camera Club can we thank you for your clubs participation at today Stanley Chell, for what I believe was an exceptional competition of the highest standard.

Getting members to present images as prints is becoming an increasing challenge, but we at Aberdare CC believe it to be the best format, the most creative, the most skilled, and when done well a pleasure for all to enjoy.

In the past years we’ve tried to challenge the norm in terms of judges, and so we  wish to thank Walter Benzie for accepting our invitation to judge, and bringing a fresh view and presentation style. His first score of 9.5 brought audible gasps from all attending, until we all recognised that he was scoring to ten. His comments, anecdotes and critiques  were well thought through, and communicated in a means that we all learnt a bit more. To get a former President of The Royal Photographic Association to our part of Wales was a true honour, and in conversation he was heartened by his warm welcome and is now keen to explore more of Wales. Thank you Walter.

We also wish to thank the following sponsors of today’s event and donating so generously.

  • Nomad Cases
  • PaperSpectrum
  • EOS Magazine

We also wish to thank the club members for their efforts in delivering a well presented competition, with yet again the best catering on the circuit. Aberdare always tries to give a true valleys welcome to our friends and guests, especially our secret recipe of “Bara Brith” (it all depends on the brew of the tea πŸ˜‰ )

So now for the bit that you’ve all been waiting for, the results and scores.
