A couple of things have been brought to my attention and I thought it would be a good idea to clarify. Firstly I have altered the Star Rating System slightly. I have altered four stars from VERY GOOD  to GOOD, as it was felt by one club that this made more sense between COMPETENT […]
We in the WPF thought that 2014 had been a good year for our Distinction day, but it was surpassed by this year’s tremendous turnout and fabulous result.
Some excellent work was presented at Talbot Green Community Centre, which resulted in a higher pass rate than previous years. There were 24 entries, 22 in prints […]
After many years of judging, Les Loosemore has decided to reduce his heavy schedule and give up judging for the WPF. He will be greatly missed by the many clubs he has attended over the years and we wish him all the best in his retirement. Les will continue presenting so please keep an eye […]
Jenny Hibbert has had an image selected for the BBC Countryfile Calendar. It was one of just 12 prints selected from over 33,000Â images entered. A great achievement. Well done Jenny. All the money from sales of the calendar goes to children in need.
She has also gained her EFIAP, had 3 prints selected for […]
Congratulations on running Wigan 10 so close. It’s great to see a WPF club up there with the top clubs. It won’t be long before a Welsh club is the top of the tree.
Your club has again done us proud and on behalf of myself and the WPF. Many many thanks and I look […]
We’ve heard that the Inn Focus Group won the Ace of Prints competition from Tenby (second) and Bridgend (third).
Final Round      Round One

Ed Cloutman has informed us that he has done away with the Judges and Presenters STATISTICS forms as they no longer serve much purpose. If Judges or Presenters have any problems or wish to change or add to their presentations, please email him directly at judgepresent@thewpf.co.uk
The Judges and Presenters Assessment Forms will, of […]
Two WPF club members were topic finalists in the recent Cardiff Photomarathon which saw 400 photographers compete to take the best photos on 12 topics in 12 hours.
Susan Plant of Port Talbot was a finalist in the ‘Street Level’ topic and Leigh Woolford of Gwynfa was a finalist in the ‘Control’ topic. Congratulations to […]
Another new club has joined the WPF. Oakdale Photographic Society is based near Blackwood and you can find out more about them on their website. I am sure you will all join us in welcoming them to the federation!
Big apologies for the omission of Kidwelly Camera Club from our previous post welcoming six new clubs to the WPF. Seemingly in their place we included Gower Photographic Society, who aren’t new to the WPF, they have just changed their name (from Mumbles & West Cross).
This was solely an error on the part of […]
Inn Focus Group (1st) and Tenby (2nd) proved to be the class of the field at the Ace of Clubs. Both clubs go on the represent the WPF at the National DPI Championships at Warwick. The plate competition was won by Gwent.
Official scores, both individual and overall, can now be found in the following […]
We have received a copy of this letter from Alan Shepherd over at Gwynfa. It is from the Police communications advisory group and explains to officers that they cannot restrict photography in a public place.
This from our News Editor, Leigh Woolford:
When I am giving my presentation to clubs, members often ask about the practicalities of travelling to Iceland. Therefore I decided to add a blog post to my website. You can see it here. It provides some basic information about flights, car hire, hotels and costs. […]
Allan Squires, deputy chair at Gwynfa Camera Club, has heard that he has been awarded an ADPS (Associate of the Disabled Photographers Society) to go with his AWPF. His panel was 15 photographs of paint sculptures. Allan described himself as being “well chuffed”.
