2020 Memorial Trophy Results

Hi Folks,

About 60 people turned up to see this event at Bridgend Camera Club and I’m sure that they all enjoyed the day – I guess the winners enjoyed it the most though! I want to express my thanks to Bridgend for hosting the event and looking after us all so well, shame it was such a sunny day – unusual in that part of Wales! ;>))

I also need to thank all those members of the WPF Executive for their assistance and encouragement through the day without that it might have got a little fraught! I understand that Ron Lines has a hospital appointment to try and fix his bout of dropsy during the print handling – I’m assured that no harm was caused to any member of the audience or the prints!!! Thanks!

But finally I have to thank Sue O’Connell and Peter Brisley for their excellent judging and comments and for the efficient way that they managed the day – I had originally indicated that last year we had 7 Clubs attending so the suggestion was that they would be looking at 56 individual entries and 7 sets of 4 prints. However this year the Memorial day has taken off and we had up to 18 Club taking part which meant that they had almost treble the work to contend with – that they did it so well and with such good humour made the day – Thank you both!

The summary of results is as follows:

The Walter Morgan Trophy for PDIs was won by Cymru Monochrome with 76 points.
2nd was Tenby with 75 points and joint third were ISO and Vale with 74 points each.
Full results here.

The Past Presidents’ Trophy for Colour Prints was won by Western Valley with 77 points.
Joint 2nd were ISO & Tenby with 75 points.
Full results here.

The Gwyn Morgan Trophy for Mono Print Sets. The top three were ranked by the Judges as follows:-
In 1st Place was Afan Nedd
In 2nd Place was ISO
In 3rd Place was Vale

My congratulations go to the three Clubs that took Trophies home with them – Cymru Monochrome, Western Valley & Afan Nedd!

But also to all whose photographs were shown it made for a great day!!
