It was an enjoyable day at Talbot Green and I would like to thank all 9 Clubs that took part, the 3 Judges Roger and Judith Parry of the MCPF together with Eddy Lane of the WCPF. Last autumn Dewi Jones of Neath & District Photographic Society was approached by a gentleman named Chris Gatcum, a writer of books on photography. Chris had admired the quality of pictures Dewi was producing from an Agfa Clack camera on his Flickr website and asked whether he could have four pictures for inclusion on a book to be published by Ammonite Press. After a few checks allayed any suspicions, Dewi duly sent the pictures and vowed to keep silent until the book was published. We have received this sad news from Alan Shepherd at Gwynfa. Ken Stoneman passed away on Tuesday 28th May. Ken has been a member of Gwynfa since the very early days of the club and during that time occupied several committee roles including Chairman and Treasurer. He will be missed by everyone. ![]() We’ve received this sad news from Mike Jones. Malcolm Owen, former member of the Rhondda Camera Club, passed away on Wednesday 22nd May. Llanelli Photographic Society are extremely sad to announce the passing of Joyce Mollet on Friday 3rd May after a long illness. Although her family live thousands of miles away both her son Matthew and daughter Sarah were there. We’ve received this sad news from David Jones. Newport Photographic Club is deeply saddened to report the recent passing of lifelong member Graham Meaker. Tony Charles Pioneers of Welsh fine art portraiture collection has been purchased by the National Library of Wales for its photographic archive and for its external public exhibitions loan programme to selected art galleries in Wales. A third member of New Quay CC has started off 2019 in style by gaining his QPSA from the Photographic Society of America. Congratulations Michael Jones whose wife also received this award in 2018. Hi Folks, An enjoyable day of Memorial Competitions was held on Sunday 20th January, attended by 60+ people. We’ve received sad news from Dave Lewis at Tenby & District Camera Club: I have the sad duty to announce the passing of our good friend and esteemed photographer Gary Jenkins. On the 4th November 2018, the AWPF assessment day was held, there were 23 applications, 21 print submissions and 2 digital submissions. 13 print panels and 2 digital panels were accepted and those photographers were awarded the distinction of AWPF and added to the WPF roll of honour. Congratulations to them all! Aberdare CC thanks all those who took part in this years Stanley Chell 2018. Congratulations to all the winners and all all those who entered.
